Thank Heaven for Little Boys!

Bobby and I are having a son! Now that I know I am having a boy, I keep catching myself staring at little boys I see out in public! I can't help but admire them and picture what our little man will look like! I already know that little grin on his face will be enough to melt his momma's heart!

We found out the baby's sex on the 22nd of October. We had our 18 week ultrasound that morning and got to see the baby for the first time! He is so cute, he was sucking his thumb for us! I was the only one to find out the sex and I had to wait all day to tell anyone until we had the party that evening. It was a long day!! I went to publix and had them make a cake with blue icing inside, so when Bobby cut the cake the sex would be revealed! That night my mother in law had some family and friends over for a yummy dinner and we cut the cake! It was such a fun night, and it must become a family tradition! Check out my facebook page to see the video my friend Adrienne posted of the revealing!

Now that I am all one track minded on the little boy I had to go out and by something, since I had been waiting forever!!

Here is what I found at Baby gap, and brought it home to show Bobby!

For Bobby, it says "Dad Rocks"

For me!

Just a little look at my first purchases!

Names...

As you know, we already had a girl name picked out. So we have been discussing boy names. If you know the joke that my husband has started he has nicknamed my poor son Tank, and everyone has seemed to be catching on to it. He thinks he will be this amazing football player and everyone will chant TANK TANK... I have 5 more months to nix this nickname..

Ok on a serious note.. we had a few names we both liked and we have been trying to say them more often to see how we like them. The one that we both really like and seems to be sticking is....COLTON ROBERT MOSES. We have started calling him Colton already, so it seems we may have finally come to an agreement on a boy name!

I felt the baby move!!

The last few weeks I have been reading on all my pregnancy websites about when you can feel the baby move. They call it "quickening" when you first feel the baby, and it can first occur anytime between 16 and 20 weeks. The article said it would feel like a little butterfly flutter, or popcorn popping. I have been anxiously waiting to feel our baby move! Today I was looking up pictures of what babies look like at 16 weeks and development thus far when, all of a sudden I felt our baby move for the very first time!! It was the neatest feeling and I cannot stop thinking about it. I want the baby to move all day long!! I am just so in love with this little one.

The countdown to find out the sex has officially begun! We have our first ultrasound appoinment on October 22nd and we hope to find out then. My friend Dawn had suggested a really cute and fun way of telling people what your having and I think we might do it. Once you find out the sex you go and get a cake made with either blue or pink frosting inside. Thenyou have friends and family over to have the cake and celebrate andd when you cut into it everyone will know if it is a boy or a girl! I loved this idea and can't wait to do it. It will have to be that same night becasue I can't hold it in for too long.

We just found out my sister who is pregnant is having a baby.... GIRL! I am so excited to be having a niece. Now that she is having a girl I kind of think we are having a boy. A girl would be fun because she will be so close with her cousin, but a boy would be fun for my dad because he had 3 girls and is hoping for a grandson. We joke and say it will be another girl, and he will have 3 daughters and 2 granddaughters! So either way I don't care what it is, just praying for a healthy baby, but I just want to know already!!!

Nursery Decor

I have been dying to start decorating the nursery. Since doing some research and saving inspiration pieces, I have a pretty good idea of how I want the nursery to look. I want a very elegant, polished room with a shabby chic feel. This is going to be so much fun!

I Love this room for a baby girl.It very elegant yet practical, and I know I could find some look alike items for very inexpensive. Our crib is similar to this one except the back has a high arch. I love the creams, whites, and very pale pink used in this room. I definately want to do a chandelier in the middle of the room. Love this one! I may just find one at a garage sale and spray paint it pink!

This is my all time favorite that I found so far. I love it for a boy or girl but would probably do something similar for a boy. I love the newport feel to this baby oasis. I want to find fabric to drape over the crib like this room has. The old fashioned chair with a reupholstered neutral fabric adds a great vintage touch however I don't know how practical it is as 3 am feedings.

This is such a great room for a boy! It is still very elegant but has a pale blue, neutral and white color scheme. What a beautiful detailed crib. I love the fabric for the curtains as well and the crib drapery.

I will be on the look out for some great finds that I can use for either a boy or girl room such as the white and neutrals and then onceI found out the sex I will be on a mission for a similar fabulous nursery such as these, with a splash of either pale blue or pink! The chandelier is my next project cause I can get that now!

" For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my Mother's womb"

Hi Everyone,

Well this is my first post! I have been wanting to start a baby blog to capture my hormonal thoughts and share this exciting time with family and friends! Since I am starting to write now and am already in my second trimester, I will summarize our first trimester for you:

How we found out:

Well the wonderful news that we were going to be parents was quite a surprise, however the best surprise I have ever experienced. Bobby and I were on vacation in Philadelphia visiting my dad and sisters around the middle of July. We were having a wonderful time, but I did start feeling a bit different on our vacation. I already have a very queasy stomach and can get nauseas very easily, and I kept getting nauseas at random times during our trip. I was still in denial and thought I was just getting car sick. We got back home on Sunday July 19th, and Bobby convinced me that we needed to go get a pregnancy test asap. We came home and did the test and within seconds the test said "PREGNANT" we were so happy and so shocked at the same time. But since that second I have not stopped thinking of this baby and what a miracle and display of God's grace we get to experience. I am so excited to be a mommy! Bobby is so thrilled as well and I know he is going to be such an amazing dad I can't wait to see him with our baby. Another amazing blessing is that my sister Laurie and I are pregnant together! We are only a few days apart. I love that I get to experience this with her. Yes we also got married 3 weeks apart last summer, (Sorry for stealing your thunder twice now Laur haha!)

First Trimester:

The first trimester I was so exhausted all the time, I would come home from work and pass out on the couch, wake up for dinner and go to bed by 9. I was nauseas for awhile as well, having to eat like every hour to help the sick feeling. I definately felt pregnant and as if my body was no longer my own. I never felt like doing anything and had no energy. I have just been so amazed at every step in this process, seeing God's hand at work. He is the giver of Life! A few weeks ago my mom had called me and said she found a baby consignment shop that she wanted me to check out. It was a really neat store with cribs that looked brand new for a great price. My mom and Louis ended up getting us our crib! I love it! It's really the only thing we can purchase right now since we don't yet know the sex. I can't wait to get the nursery started. I have started compiling a folder of nursery decorating ideas! Speaking of the sex of the baby, is it a Boy or a Girl??? I keep going back and forth and just want to know already!! So far mostly everyone things I am having a girl. Sometimes I think it's a girl becasue I have been breaking out, but other times I have no clue. We have decided on Payton if it is a girl, but we can't yet decide on boy names. Since the day we found out we were pregnant Bobby has been convinced it is a girl. He was so cute, saying he wants a little girl to take out on daddy, daughter dates and take her shopping, it melted my heart to hear him say that. I always said I wanted boys first, but now that I am pregnant I want to be guaranteed a girl, so either way I will be happy! Just praying for a healthy baby. I will post belly pics soon!

13 weeks:

I am now in my second trimester, I cannot believe how fast this is going. 6 more months and I get to hold my baby in my arms, I can't wait for that day! I pray over my belly all the time, and I am amazed at how much I love this child already. The sickness is very limited now and I have some energy back which is wonderful! Occasionally I have indigestion and my gag reflexes are stronger than ever. I can tell I have definately started to show, the average person who doesn't know me wouldn't know I am pregnant yet, I am just in the fat stages. But I can definately tell! My pants are all snug and I recently went maternity shopping. It was exciting to buy a few things because now I actually have some clothes that fit me!
Today, Monday September 21st- 13 and half weeks ( have to add that half!)

This morning I had my monthly Dr. appt. My Last appointment I was only 9 weeks and the Dr. tried to hear the baby's heartbeat but said it was too early with the doppler. She said next visit I would definately hear it. I was so excited to tell Bobby that the next visit we get to hear our baby! Bobby wasn't able to come today because he started his first day at his new job, so I brought my mom and mother in law along to hear their grandbaby. They were so excited.I have been counting down to this visit for weeks now and today it finally came! We walked in the office and I did the usual routine things such as urine, and blood pressure and weighing in, which we will not talk about... then we went in the room to wait for the Dr. When she came in to check the heart beat, she placed the doppler on my belly and instantly you could hear it! Almost sounding like a train noice... choo choo choo choo, It was the most beautiful and amazing sound I have ever heard! A very strong heartbeat I might add. I just got so filled up inside. This is so much more real to me now that I heard him/her. Our next visit will be October 19th for a rountine monthly visit, where Bobby will get to hear the heartbeat, I can't wait for him to experience it! Then on October 29th we have our first ultrasound and we will find out the sex of the baby!!!!!!!

Is it a boy or girl any thoughts?? 5 weeks and 3 days to go.
